What Color Is Your Fourth Wing Dragon?

How this color quiz works

This is a short color test for readers who want a picture, not a long personality inventory. It asks eight questions about ordinary preferences: how you start a task, how you handle a disagreement, and what you value at the end of a hard day. Every question has four choices. Each choice adds a fixed weight to one of six dimensions: valor, loyalty, cunning, ambition, resolve and shadow.

Those dimensions are original to this site. They are not a published temperament chart, and they do not describe how a dragon chooses a rider. After the eighth answer, the highest score becomes the color mark. If two dimensions tie, the first matching result in the order below wins. The same answers always produce the same card. Nothing is saved, and reloading the page clears the session.

Six pictures, not a roster

The six results are Red, Green, Orange, Blue, Brown and Black. Each card shows an original dragon painted for that color. The picture is a mark for the result. It is not fan art of a named dragon, and it is not evidence that a color behaves a certain way in the novels. The card says so in the footer.

The dragon reference on this site uses seven color headings, not six. Golden / Iridescent remains on that grid and on the longer dragon quiz. This shorter test leaves it out so the card set stays at six pictures. A missing color here is a design choice for the quiz, not a claim that the seventh heading does not exist. What the card can and cannot say

Download image saves a portrait card. Share image hands that file to your device’s share sheet when the browser allows a file share. On a desktop browser that cannot attach a file, the same button downloads the picture so you can post it yourself. The platform buttons under the card send text only. Facebook attaches this page. X, Tumblr, Reddit, WhatsApp and Bluesky can include the match text. This site does not post the card and does not keep a copy.

A shared card is a conversation prompt. It does not predict a bond, name a rider, or describe a scene from the books. The public premise of the series is a war college where dragons choose whether to bond with a candidate. This quiz does not make that choice.

5. Brown Dragon — resolve: Steady, Patient, Persistent.
6. Black Dragon — shadow: Independent, Discreet, Focused.
